Indo-Nepal Trade Fair to kick off on Feb 2 Indo-Nepal Trade Fair to kick off on Feb 2

Dec 30, 2017-The 2nd edition of Indo-Nepal Trade Fair and Tourism Festival is scheduled to kick off from February 2 at the Parade Ground in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, India.

The 7-day fair is being organised by Kanchanpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) with the help of Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Export Promotion Centre. The fair is also being promoted by Nepal Tourism Board, Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce & Industry and Embassy of Nepal, New Delhi, India.

There will be wide range of products from Nepal and India on display during the fair. The expo will house more than 150 stalls including handicraft products, readymade clothes, daily used products, religious and cultural products, leather goods and Nepali food stalls. The expo will also be hosting cultural activities and programmes to promote tourism. The fair aims to introduce export quality goods which will help to promote Nepali products and services, promote goods produced by domestic, small and medium scale industries, advertise Nepal’s tourist destinations, hotels and resorts and promote packages for tours and travels.

“The expo will help promote Nepali products and boost exports,” said Madhav Prasad Joshi, vice-president commerce of KCCI.

There has been a trade deficiency of more than 66 percent between Nepal and India and KCCI believes that the trade fair will reduce that figure. They also believes that expo will advertise and promote Nepali products, send Nepali products to Indian market, promote Nepali tourist destinations, create a platform for B2B meeting between local businesspersons from Dehradun and Nepali entrepreneurs, help to materialise the agreement and give continuity to bilateral trade.

“The fair will help inform the public about Nepali products and services to create a platform for potential investors, manufacturers, distributors and exporters,” added Joshi.50 free stalls will be provided to firms promoting exportable items selected by Nepal government, reads the press release.

The organiser is expecting more than 100,000 visitors and strong sales of Nepali products, reads the press release. KCCI aims to organise Indo-Nepal Trade Fair and Tourism Festival every year at different cities of India.
