Udasi’s Bardaliko Chheu on stage

Dec 17, 2017-Bardaliko Chheu, a play that explores the recent political history of Nepal, its fallouts and its effects on the society, was staged at the premises of Pokhara Chamber of Commerce over the weekend.

Written and directed by Krishna Udasi, the play was enacted by the first batch of students from the Pokhara-based National Art School.

Set in the backdrop of Nepali politics, the play also portrays how the transitional period after the end of the Maoist insurgency has had an adverse effect on the lives of people.

Bardali Chheubata also marks the theatrical comeback for director Udasi, who says his aim is to establish Pokhara as a ‘City of Theatre.’ Prior to this, Udasi, whose works are rooted in the social satire genre, has directed plays like Antarastriya Raksi Bhatti, Pulis ra Pyaas, Ek Rupaiyan, and Tai Chup Mai Chup.

Bardali ko Chheubata features actors Mamata Manjul, Nischal Bimal, Elisha BK, Krishna Poudel, Parvati Thapa, Bishnu Timilsina, Kushal Adhikari, Laxmi Neupane, Soniya Khatri and Prabesh Shrestha.
