White
House Communications Director Hope Hicks could be the next target in
Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s probe into Trump campaign collusion
with Russia.
This news comes after Friday’s bombshell that former national security adviser Michael Flynn plead guilty to lying to the FBI.
Hicks has been a staple in the president’s inner circle dating back to when he was candidate Trump.
At
28, she became the youngest White House communications director after
both Sean Spicer and Anthony Scaramucci were ousted from the role in
quick succession.
While
she does not speak on camera often or serve as a public face of the
Trump administration, she has had close and unique access to the
president since the early days of his campaign.
She
traveled by his side to Iowa at the beginning of the campaign and she’s
outlasted veteran political operatives to maintain her position in the
Trump orb.
“After Ivanka, she knows him the best in the White House," at least one reportedly said.
Reports
emerged this week that Mueller plans to interview her to learn more
about the president and his inner circle as he continues his
investigation into possible Russia interference in the 2016 presidential
election.
