Leadership will not change on rotation basis: Pandit

dec 26, 2017-CPN-UML leader Lal Babu Pandit has claimed that party Chairman KP Shama Oli will be the next prime minister of Nepal.
Speaking at an interaction organised at the Reporters’ Club in the Capital on Tuesday, he said that the leadership of the government would not change on rotation basis.
Leader Pandit said, “The leadership will not change on rotation basis. There is no doubt that KP Oli will lead the country for full five years.”
“Oli will be the prime minister and might also lead the unified party. We are holding discussions on the same,” he added.
Nevertheless, there is possibility that senior leaders of left alliance of CPN-UML and CPN-Maoist Centre Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Jhalanath Khanal and Madhav Kumar Nepal could also lead the party.
He, however, expressed his belief that Oli would be the prime minister and also be the chairman of the unified party.
Former Minister for General Administration Pandit said that discussions are underway in the left alliance over allocating power to the leaders.
“We forged an electoral alliance in the recently held parliamentary and provincial elections based on certain rules. We will also make a special rule for the unification of parties and indulge in discussions based on that rule,” he further said. “All the leaders will be managed properly, there is no doubt and qualm,” leader Pandit said.
Moreover, he said that the parties will be unified only after the formation of a new government.
“There is no doubt over the merger of two parties. The government will be formed first, and then we will move ahead for the unification of parties,” he said.
Saying that people cast their votes by trusting the left alliance, he vowed that the new government will work for uplifting the lifestyle of people and for the prosperity of the country.
“Now, the stable government will be formed to lead the country towards the path of development,” he said. He added that the next government will rule the country for full five-year term, bringing an end to the game of musical chairs in the country which has seen 26 governments since the restoration of multi-party democracy in 1990.
He was of the opinion that the Nepali Congress (NC) should hand over the power without any delay as new public mandate has come in with the completion of parliamentary and provincial elections.
Meanwhile, the former minister said that an ordinance pertaining to the National Assembly presented to President Bidya Devi Bhandari should be rolled back at the earliest and should be sent back by reviewing it.
“The ordinance will be issued, but it will not be issued like in the present form. The incumbent government should revoke the current ordinance and should be sent back in a new form,” he stated.
