 50pc votes cast in Bajhang; explosives go off in four places

 Nov 26, 2017-District Election Office, Bajhang, has informed that 50 percent votes have been cast in the district till 3:40 pm Sunday. 
District Election Officer Dhruba Kumar Bhandari said that elections are being convened peacefully in 160 election centers in the district.
IED blast in four places
An unidentified group detonated bombs in four election centres in Bajhang district today.
According to the District Police Office, Bajhang, a bomb was exploded 400 metres away from the voting centre at Janata Adharbhut School Bagmandu in Chabis Pathibhara Rural Municipality-4 and another one was exploded at a jungle, 1 km away from the voting centre at Thalara Primary School in Chabis Pathibhara Rural Municipality-5.
Likewise, a time bomb was found on the road near the voting centre at Satyabadi Higher Secondary School. Later, a bomb disposal squad of Nepal Police and Nepal Army defused the bomb. Police said that pamphlets of Netra Bikram Chand-led Communist Party of Nepal were recovered from near the site.
Similarly, an IED was exploded near the voting centre at Kanya Secondary School in Bungal Municipality.
Locals informed police after they saw a red suspicious object. The bomb exploded before the security personnel from Nepal Police and Nepal Army reached the site, locals informed.
Though, bombs were exploded in various places, no human casualties have been reported, DSP Rishi Ram Kandel said.
Police said that a packet of sand wrapped with a red cloth written ‘bomb’ was also found. The packet was found 10 metres away from the Khapardev voting centre in Khaptad Channa Rural Municipality, Kalukheti.
Locals informed the police as soon as they saw the packet.
Clash ensues following dispute regarding woman’s vote
Cadres of Nepali Congress and CPN-UML clashed at Shaileshwor Primary School voting centre at Thala Rural Municiaplity-8 this afternoon over a dispute regarding casting of vote of a woman in the district.
The clash erupted when one Dev Raj Upadhyay tried to cast vote of his wife.
An UML cadre sustained minor injuries in the incident.
Though the voting centre remained tense briefly, the voting continued peacefully later.
