Govt urged to handover certificate of victory to Resham Chaudhary

Dec 19, 2017-Nepali organisations active in South Korea have expressed dissatisfaction over the Election Commission (EC)’s reluctance to provide the certificate of victory to recently elected federal parliament member Resham Chaudhary.

Issuing separate statements on Tuesday, Nepal Federation of Indigenous Nationalities and Tharu Kalyankari Sabha urged the government to handover the certificate of victory to Chaudhary who was elected as the federal parliament member from Kailali constituency-1.

Rastriya Janata Party (RJP) candidate Chaudhary, who is in the most wanted list of police, had won the parliamentary election with a wide margin of 20,935 votes.

Chaudhary had registered his nomination at the EC through his representative Indra Chaudhary.

Resham Chaudhary is the main accused in the lynching of eight police personnel and an infant in Tikapur incident of August 2015.
